ACRATS, together with the other BiDebA project partners, is pleased to invite you to the Final Workshop of the BiDebA Project: Biobased Debondable Adhesives. The event will take place at the ACRATS Training Services premises in Hoogerheide.
During the workshop, the project consortium will present the key results of the BiDebA project, share practical experiences, and explore possible next steps.
A highlight of the day will be a live demonstration in a defense hangar, where a temporary repair will be performed on a real composite aircraft part using the bio-based, debondable adhesives developed during the project.
The concept: a technician applies a quick and reversible temporary repair using a pre-cured patch bonded with a bio-based adhesive. Later, during scheduled maintenance (e.g., an MRO visit), the patch can be effortlessly removed by heating, avoiding damage and the complex removal processes required with traditional epoxies.
This solution supports the circular economy by enabling easier repair, reuse, and recycling of composite parts.
BiDebA (Biobased Debondable Adhesives) is a European research and innovation project co-funded by Interreg North-West Europe. The goal: to develop sustainable adhesive solutions for the transportation sector, especially composite repair.
Project Partners:
ACRATS Training Services (NL)
GMI Aero (FR)
Flanders Make (BE)
Avans University of Applied Sciences (NL)
TU Delft – Delft University of Technology (NL)
By creating adhesives from renewable resources and enabling controlled debonding, BiDebA addresses the environmental and technical challenges of conventional adhesives. The project culminates in a pilot-scale demonstrator which will be showcased at this final event.
This event is for professionals from:
Aerospace & transportation industries
MRO and repair service providers
Technical education & research institutions
Companies working with composite technology
If you're involved in composite materials, sustainability, or innovation — this workshop offers valuable insights and connections.
Participation is free, but registration is required.
